Salomons Academic Programmes

Currently Salomons runs one open accredited programme in Leadership and Management. As a Faculty of Canterbury Christ Church University, we are able to work with you to develop a programme structure best able to meet your Leadership Development needs.

Open Programme

Certificate/Diploma/Masters in Leadership and Management (Health and Social care)

This programme is aimed at Health and Care Professionals in management and leadership roles. Its flexible structure caters to those recently embarked in their roles as well as those with significant experience who now wish to underpin their practical experience with a Masters level qualification.

The Programme aims to develop a critical insight and understanding of contemporary issues within management and leadership in the context of Health and Social Care.  It is both academically rigorous - seeking always to bring a critical eye to policy and practice - and also allows participants to develop practical knowledge and skills to support the management and leadership role.

All participants are encouraged to reflect upon, and share, their own experiences, thereby making an active contribution to the learning process. Opportunities are provided to relate the theory to practice to ensure transference to the work place.

Entrants will need to feel confident of their ability to work at post-graduate level

The programme is offered on a part-time basis, and is taught over a series of two-day blocks at the Salomons Centre in surroundings which inspire thought and reflection.

Academic Programmes

The particular modules offered in a given year will depend on the students’ needs and their year/point of entry.
All modules bar the dissertation provide 20 credits at HE level 4. The dissertation merits 40 credits.

Who is this programme for:  Clinicians, Health and Care Managers and Care Professionals who manage and lead

Who else may be on the course: Medical Doctors, Clinical Psychologists, Social Service managers, Health Service managers, Nurse managers, Managers of Allied Health Care Professionals - all those who seek, through leading and managing, to improve health and well being.

Students who have completed a Canterbury Christ Church University Diploma in Management course at either Salomons or through the Business School are very welcome to complete their Masters with us as we can accept the full 120 credits that you will have received. For those who have a Diploma in Management from any other University, we can accept 90 credits. We can, however, offer a 30 credit Negotiated Professional Development module. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this further. Contact details can be found below.
