1:1 Coaching

Coaching starts with you - the client.  Our assumption is that in seeking coaching you want to focus on changing something for the future, to achieve some self-insights and to work on your self-development.  You set the agenda.  We provide the structure and help to create an environment in which you can reflect on your own learning and development.  Our approach to coaching presumes that the prime focus is on the client within their current (or perhaps future) work role.

In Salomons we have a team of very experienced coaches all of whom either have post-graduate level accredited coaching qualifications or are currently working towards accreditation.  (See team profiles). We believe that accreditation is critical in ensuring the quality and robustness of our approach to coaching.  All of our coaches undertake both peer supervision and continuous professional development.

Our experience and expertise enable us to draw on a range of models and approaches to learning and development, adapted to suit your needs.  The coach will:

  • Help you to clarify your goals and desired outcomes at the outset - to ensure you get the most from your coaching.
  • Advise and support you on the use of psychometrics and other diagnostic tools  to enhance your self-awareness and enrich the coaching process.
  • Use questioning, listening, reflecting, and challenging as appropriate to enable you to explore your issues.
  • Support you in exploring and weighing up options before you decide on a course of action – and then provide you with challenge around achievement of these actions.

Each coaching relationship is tailored to the individual clients’ requirements.  Typically, however, it will include:

  • An initial introductory meeting between you and your prospective coach.  This meeting is arranged on a “no commitment / no fee” basis.  It is critical that you feel comfortable about working with the respective coach – and that both parties feel that the relationship will be productive.
  • An agreed series of coaching sessions.  We recommend at least four and up to six sessions from the outset, over a 4 – 8 month period, although this may vary according to the immediacy of need.  Each session typically lasts around 2 hours.

We believe that it is very important to the success of coaching for sessions to be held at a location away from your normal place of work.
